- The St. James Singers, based at East Hanney, perform unaccompanied songs from many lands and every period in the recorded history of music-making. Programmes may encompass plain chant and Victorian parlour songs, madrigals and shanties. Very much in the mould of the famous King’s Singers, the group has performed widely, spans vocal ranges from countertenor to basso profundo and selects arrangements calculated to delight the discerning ear.
- With multi-instrumental talents to support a love of English folk song, “Three Pressed Men” offers the unusual experience of up to three concertinas played simultaneously. Melodeons, hammered dulcimer, keyboard, mandolin, guitars and voices figure in their wide range of musical offerings from rollicking choruses to sensitive love songs.
- This concert is a special event in which the St. James Singers and Three Pressed Men will join forces in selected items for your entertainment. We look forward to the pleasure of your company.
