Before Christmas the steering group developed their terms of reference and discussed how we were going to divide up the information gathering process (audit of what we have in the parish and surrounding areas). It was agreed to divided up into seven working groups (headings from first meeting) and set forth. This process has been successful although there are some gaps which, I feel, will be filled in as the plan progresses into the next stage.

At our last meeting 16th of Jan we invited Celia Collett chair from Brightwell-cum-Sotwell along to talk about the development of their parish plan and to re focus the group after the holidays. The group got a lot of useful information and encouragement from Celia.

Our focus is now on the next stage. This is to take the information we have gathered and use it as a starting point to get the views and input of the parishioners. We are also looking at how and when this process will take place, what existing resources are available to us and most importantly how we can ensure that we provide the opportunity for everyone to have their voice heard at this vital stage of the process.

From here we will move on to the development, distribution and analysis of the questionnaire. What this will look like is still to be discussed. Once again our main aim is to ensure that everyone in the parish has the opportunity to complete and return the questionnaire.

We are finalizing our application for a grant from ORCC, deadline 3rd March.

Overall I feel that we are on track although the next couple of months will be tough going if we are to stay on track. We have a dedicated steering group, which will help us achieve this. Two members of the group have had to resign; however others in our parish have stepped up to the challenge.

Members of the parish who provided us with contact details from the very first meeting have been contacted and updated on our progress. All were also invited to come and get involved in the next stage.
